It's so much easier to play outside with a walker. Especially, in the great rainy, wet Northwest. There are still damp, dirty knees and bottom, but it's nothing like when he was crawling. Melkamu loves to go outside and to play with his big blue car that was gifted to him, and the neighbor kids up the street. Daniel is most excited about the new ease and ability to play outside. Last week we were all outside while Daniel was raking leaves, we got lots of cute pictures, but then they got deleted without being downloaded (it wasn't me this time). But, there have been lots of other opportunities to play outside and get pictures of our little walker.
Reading the following blog post brought tears to my eyes. So many kids don't have the luck, the opportunity, the chance (whatever it is) to get the medications they need to not only survive, but to thrive. You can find and read Amanda's story at the link to her blog below - it's the December 1, 2010 post for World Aids Day.
We started this blog to keep people up to date on our whereabouts and activities when we bought our house and moved to a new city. Now we will continue to use the blog to keep family and friends informed as we expand our family through adoption.
For those, visiting our blog to follow our adoption, the first post about adoption is March 25, 2010. We received our referral March 30, 2010, and were home as a family of 3 on August 15, 2010.
